I’ve always liked stories. I ate up stories as a kid; reading books, comics, and watching film and television for the best tales, people, and stories I could find. I found that the truth also could feel like a story. And that many of us struggled to tell our own truths or to tell our stories without feeling shame, grief, and other emotions that often keep us from speaking the truth. We could struggle so much, that it would feel impossible telling our stories — even to ourselves. Our stories and our truths help us be our true selves, to find healing and hope, and the ability to be the healthiest we can be.

Everyone has a story to tell, and sometimes they need help in telling it, finding their identity, and healing. We should be able to tell our own stories with pride and confidence! Our stories might be marred by pain, trauma, or just not reaching the things we deserve, want, or need.

I’ve been a practicing clinician in different positions since 2017, working with children, teens, and adults. My style is eclectic and focused on you since everyone is different. I work from a belief that you know your body and yourself and know your needs. I also work from a place where we can think about our thoughts, and that we can work on making changes to our behavior once we understand why we make certain choices (so for those who want all the theoretical names and tools: Acceptance Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy). I’m poly-friendly and kink-friendly and want you to feel safe and heard in therapy! That’s the whole point!

I also was trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in 2018, as an approach for trauma work. I love this work. I love being able to see the transformation that so many clients have as they work and process through events that have weighed them down. It can be tough and introspective work, but I love seeing the changes and helping someone process and start to heal.
